New Trojans: give us $300, or the data gets it!: There's a new breed of ransomware in town, and it raises the stakes compared to previous viruses of this sort. Both Sinowal.FY and Gpcode.ai have been identified by security companies PandaLabs and Kaspersky Lab as malicious strains of older Trojans that encrypt users' files so that they can no longer be accessed. The Trojan then plants a readme.txt where users will find it, and inside, demands $300 in order to decrypt the files.

How Much Does It Cost?*

Calculator We charge $75/hr* with a one-hour minimum charge, four-hour maximum charge. 

In any case, if no data is recovered then there is no charge.  However, if you choose to ship your drive to us, the shipping costs are your responsibility.  Similarly, if you choose to have us ship your failed hard drive back to you, those shipping charges are also your responsibility regardless of the success or failure of the data recovery operation.

We will provide free pickup of your hard drive in Wayne County, OH.  We also provide this service for Medina, Summit, Stark, Tuscarawas, Holmes, Ashland, and Richland Counties in Ohio, but there is a $75 pickup charge.  This charge is your responsibility regardless of the success or failure of the data recovery operation.

Turnaround time is 7 days from the receipt of your device.  This means that we will either have your data recovered and mailed out to you (once payment is received) or you will be informed that the data recovery operation was a failure by 7 days after we received your device.  Priority service (one day turnaround) is available for double the price.  Recovery fees are normally $75* per hour but doubles to $150* per hour when requesting priority service. 

The Product

The product you receive as a result of this service is your recovered data copied onto DVD-R discs which are then mailed to you via

USPS Priority Mail. The product will not be sent until payment is made in full.  Payment must be made online using PayPal.  You do not need to have a PayPal account to use this service.  We will send payment information after successful recovery of your data. 

Do not expect that we will repair your hard drive.  We will not.  Do not expect that we will return your hard drive.  We will not unless you request it and pay for return shipping.
